Vineyard

The vines at Lefore Vineyard were planted in the mid-1990s, making them some of the oldest in the Rocks District. The vineyard is a little higher in elevation and rockier than other sites in the AVA, giving fresher fruit.

95% Syrah, 5% Grenache

Winemaking Notes

Harvested September 19 at 24.7 brix; fermented for 20 days; and aged 12 months in 100% neutral, French oak. 

Tasting Notes

Aromas of red and black fruit, freshly tilled earth, pipe tobacco, and fig. Flavors of black licorice, blackberry, chocolate, and baking spices. Savory and stylish with a robust mid-palate. Fine-grained tannins and considerable intensity.
